Salt - Jars of Clay

Genre: Pop: Pop Rock

This release is by a local artist. Visit this page for more information.

Jars of Clay has been released as a free single from Salt’s website for quite a while now; can’t imagine how I missed it.

Anyway, this 7 piece local band, who recently claimed Best Band at the BMAs, seem to be doing quite strongly, and this single does not deny it. Screeching guitars define this track quite nicely, from the introduction all the way to the solo.

The single is available as a 128kbps mp3 complete with cover art from Salt’s website through this link.

Andrew Osenga - 2 Albums

Genre: Pop: Pop Rock, Acoustic

Andrew Osenga has recently become one of my favourite acoustic artists. Apart from the 2 free EPs being reviewed here, he has 3 albums under his own name and 5 other albums under 2 different names.

Anyways, back to reviewing the free stuff. First up is Letters to the Editor, Vol. 1. Six simple songs that make you want to listen to the EP again and again. Osenga also uses multilayering, featuring a chorus of his own vocals. Tracks of note include Swing Wide the Glimmering Gates, my particular favourite, and Wanted.

Letters to the Editor, Vol. 2 features more of the same brilliant work I’ve come to expect from Osenga. Must-listen tracks include Secret Country, Four Horses and Good Things Always Are.

The albums may be downloaded from Andrew Osenga’s official site from the links below.

Fresh Body Shop - Orgamilk

Genre: pop: pop rock, acoustic

Fresh Body Shop is one person, Pedro, who sings and plays the acoustic guitar, and occasionally, the piano. This album, entitled Orgamilk, is full of fresh and catchy songs. My particular favourites are Nice Day and You Belong to This. If you like simple acoustic music, I recommend this album.

It may be downloaded from here as VBR mp3s.
